Myanmar, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, is one of the latest countries in Asia to be revealed its untouch beauty to the travelling world with the population of 53 millions and shares the border with China, India, Bangladesh, Laos and Thailand and the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal in the south. The country covers a size of 676,578 sqKms.There is much to discover and experience from pristine natural regions to golden pagodas to relics from an ancient past and the land could be divided into Lower Myanmar–Coastal region and Upper Myanmar–Interior Region.There is a mountainous region in the north and whilst the rest of the country is dominated by a number of large and minor rivers spreading across the land. The first Myanmar Empire was established in Bagan by King Anawrahta in the 11th century.Yangon,Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw are the main arrival points for most international visitors.The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, Myanmar has been actively promoting the Community-Based Tourism (CBT) initiative and because of the unique and diverse range of peoples,both locals and tourists are able to experience engaging interaction and cultural enhancement,interact with the people of Myanmar, gain in-depth knowledge of their culture and traditions, contribute to the community members’ communication and skill development.
